If I Was an Organelle
All living cells are made up of tiny organelles that are bounded by a thin membrane. The cell membrane is a thin layer that acts as a barrier that separates an individual cell or cellular compartment from other surrounding structures. It plays an essential part in the transport of ions and nutrients. This organelle has a lot in common with my character and personality. The membrane controls the ways that substances enter and leave cells. It is a complex structure of protein, phospholipids, cholesterol, and carbohydrates. It is a double layer of lipid with the proteins (phospholipid bilayer) scattered around it. Carbohydrates are attached to some of the proteins acting like receptors. The phospholipid bilayer contains cholesterol and arranges itself in a double layer with one end attracted to water and the other repelling from it. In the cell membrane transportation may occur as diffusion and osmosis. Oxygen and glucose are transported through the membrane without energy, but ions, such as sodium and potassium are only transported using energy. Exocytosis is when vesicles attach to the cell membrane from the inside and opens to from a packet expelling the waste to the outside. Endocytosis (phagocytosis) is when the membrane envelopes something on the outside and surrounds it, taking it into the cell. Active transportation is when molecules move across membrane from a region of low concentration to a region of high concentration. This requires a source of energy to pump the molecules uphill in concentration.
Basically, a cell membrane bring specific things that would nourish it while it expels or ignores the waste. That is similar to my personality, I keep the ones I care and love about with me. They are like the oxygen that really doesn’t have to use energy to become my friends. Those who aren’t fake, true, and don’t turn around regretting they have met me are the ones who truly nourish me and keep me going. Those who are fake are the ones I kick out. I was never a quite person, now I am like a cell membrane, I am at one place waiting quietly for those to come at me, both the true and fake, so I know who to provide more and care for. The cell membrane is a complex structure, so am I. I am really complex and it would take me time to now I can trust you. I might do really crazy and unnecessary things to test the person, to see if they are worthy. The cell membrane is a really important organelle and has so many similarities to things that have shaped a person.
